An easy to follow recipe for a great appetizer or a fun side dish. You can make them ahead of time and freeze them for later. If you choose to freeze for later, you would lightly fry them first just to get the outer crust formed, let them completely cool, then freeze them.
*Important Note*
These babies are fried from 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown.... A little longer if you want them darker. Before frying (after taking them out of the fridge) let them rest for 15 to 20 minutes so they get to room temp and will be warm as well as cheesy on the inside!
INGREDIENTS:
1 Box of Macaroni and Cheese (Cracker Barrel Brand preferred but you can use Kraft Deluxe)
2 Cups of Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
8-10 slices of cooked bacon
1/4 Teaspoon of Onion Powder
1/4 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder
A dash of Salt
A few dashes of Pepper
1/8th Teaspoon of Cayenne pepper (optional)
COATING:
4 Eggs (beaten)
2 Cups of Italian Season Bread crumbs (or panko if you prefer)
OIL FOR FRYING (350 Degrees)
